💛💙🖤5 over 500 Fantasy Book Stack! ⁉️QOTD: How is e 💛💙🖤5 over 500 Fantasy Book Stack! ⁉️QOTD: How is everyone’s weekend going?I’m getting back into shiny hunting, just recently getting Honedge in Pokémon Sword using the battle method, taking 678 encounters over 14 hours. My next hunt is going to be Litwick in Pokémon Black. I may end up tearing my hair out on that one since my last shiny hunt in black for Snivy took 127 hours. We shall see!Currently I’m reading The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson and Doctor Sleep by Stephen King.Going on vacation caused me to take a step back from the amount that I was reading every day. So, I hope I can return to form and get back reading at high volume once more.#fantasy #bookstack #books #romantasy #bookish
Summerween Stack! 🌞☀️🎃👻💀 What books are you readin Summerween Stack! 🌞☀️🎃👻💀 What books are you reading this summer?🖤How is everyone’s summer going so far? This has been a “meh” week in terms of reading. I’m away from home and it’s been hard to stay in the habit of reading every day. However, my streak is still going strong at 190 days!I’ve got a bunch of spooky horror and thriller books I’m excited to read for Summerween.Books Featured

✨“Now, it’s finally time to reveal some secrets“ ✨“Now, it’s finally time to reveal some secrets“QOTD: ⁉️How is everyone’s week going? Any weekend plans?🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 Book Review (spoiler free): This book is proof that I think I’ll read anything this man writes.📚The secret history bridges the narratives of Mistborn era 1 and 2. It comes off the high of the ending of Mistborn: The final Empire and fills in some gaps during The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages.🖤The scenes following the ending of The Hero of Ages were emotionally devastating and left me looking like a fool sobbing over a book at work. 😂This book was super short and could be read in an afternoon. It makes the most sense, to me, on the Cosmere reading order to slide this one in between The Hero of Ages and The Alloy of Law, but as long as you get it in before the Bands of Mourning, you’re good. I personally read it after era 2 and would have benefitted from reading it sooner.⁉️ What did you think of this book?#fantasy #bookreview #bookrecommendations #fantasybookseries #books
“The strongest weapon a woman has at her disposal “The strongest weapon a woman has at her disposal is that she is often underestimated”❤️ QOTD: What’s your favorite book trope? You can expect:
🏹 Hunger Games Trials
🩶 Red Queen magic system and characters
🗡️ Knife to throat… constantly🌟 (1.5/5) Book Review: Reading Powerless made me long for 2012-2015 when the hunger games movies were still coming out and all of my friends were reading Red Queen. Everyone and their mother is talking about the similarities, so I won’t do that here.🫣This book made me want to put it down so I could engage with more nuanced media of the exact same flavor. The story isn’t anything new, as it largely rehashes idea which feel, frankly, outdated, and somewhat juvenile. Seriously— the ordinary versus the elite?!? The resistance??? Saying it’s “YA” isn’t an excuse either because the source material DOES treat its readers with a modicum of respect in handling complex themes. Also, saying YA shouldn’t have complex topics (as a generalized statement) is an insult to young readers.Reading this felt like whiplash for a bygone era.The writing… was for lack of a better word, cringe. Am I saying I could do better? Nope, absolutely not. But I am saying reading our characters talk about their favorite color almost 75% of the way through the book is mind numbing at best and shows that the main love interests have zero chemistry at worst.Ah, the romance. It has potential—as all of this book does—but repeats the same patterns as I previously discussed, which is to say it’s a rehash of old structures. The names of all the characters had such Pinterest mom energy that it took me out of the book: Braxton, Paedyn, and Ace are the worst offenders off the top of my head. It simply didn’t match the fantasy vibe the book was trying to go for—neither did the rest of the Worldbuilding but that’s frankly too much for me to get into in an instagram post 😂⁉️ What did you think of Powerless? Are there some hidden themes to this book I’m too brainrotted to understand? Or is this book really trying to be a fantasy dystopia with zero subtext?#fantasy #romantasy #books #bookrecs #bookreview
“The measure of a person is not how much they have “The measure of a person is not how much they have lived. It’s in how they make use of what life has shown them“ - The Alloy of Law⁉️ QOTD: What was the last series you completed?Things you can expect:
🎩 Witty Dialogue
📚 Character Development
🗺️ Epic scope and technology
🗡️ Dynamic fight scenes🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Series Review: I absolutely loved the amount of character development in this series. It was, hands down, my favorite part about it. I’m so impressed with the development Marasi and Wayne went through to become the best versions of themselves. I felt very similar to Wayne, in that I needed to let go my previous experiences and interpretations of the characters’ relationship dynamics in order to grow and accept where they would ultimately end up. All the characters struggles were very relatable and conveyed in a manner which was understandable to someone who may not relate on an emotional level.🗡️ Sanderson has a way of cascading worldbuilding that makes the first and last book completely unrecognizable in terms of scale. Seeing as this is set in an Industrial Revolution-esque world, there is a lot of technological advancements which are relevant to the plot and character’s growth.🌹 I also really enjoyed how this is a blend of genres, a western style story about a lawman and his deputy merged with heists, Sherlock style detective work, and superhero level powers.🖤 Definitely give Mistborn Era 2 a chance if you enjoyed era 1!#fantasy #bookreview #fantasyseries #books #fantasybooks
